As long as your system can handle full volume I don't see a concern,
other than you might get a fright.
I may well use mine this way in my bedroom.

be adjusted up and
down on the fly, extra shelves can be added.
In real life you get used to the cables and holes in the wall, it's
only when you post a photo that you realise how slack it looks.
You can't see my real pride and joy, a 6foot sonosub in the corner!

for not doing anything could be that I didn't really like the
whole box thing.
I've got some black 6 pvc tube so I'll give your idea a go. The bottom
end can be mounted to a plate that covers the hole and the top can clip
behind the screen edging. Should be easy.

It is described as linear regulated and 'secondary switch mode
technique'.
It's a plug in unit, which suits me better than the inline CPC unit.
