I see people suggesting buying a new power supply for the duet in this
thread. I looked around the forum and didn't see any specifics. It
took me a couple years to be able to spend for just the duet. Is there
a cheap power supply available for this that would help? I am talking
under 20 bucks
I merged the threads into here, seemed most appropriate once the J word
was mentioned ;)

And presumably set up in the same room?
Yes please---merge my two posts. I have no idea how to delete one or
merge the two.
Sorry for the cross post. Didn't know where to post my question.
Newbie here, obviously.

This thread is badly cross-posted - can a Mod merge the streams, please?

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...
SB3 (wired) - TACT 2.2X (Linear PSU) + Good Vibrations S/W - MF
Triplethreat(Audiocom full mods) - Linn 51
So one thing Pat fails to mention. Sound quality is NOT affected by
networking at all. Nothing on your network can make the sound on the
duet "too bright" or "too warm". Sorry, it doesn't work that way.
The only thing that bad networking can do is cause the music to stop
playing.

So when you use the laptop, you have two hops of WiFi, Laptop => router
==> duet
This is bad, see the wiki.
Do you get better results with the desktop that is wired to the route
I posted this in the Duet Forum before I saw the "Audiophile" category.
Thought it might be better to post my question here. Sorry for the
double post.
I have a strange issue with my Duet. Sound quality appears
inconsistent---sometimes it's too bright, other times too warm, and at
times just pe
