Kind of OT, but...
I have a directory with both flac and mp3 files and I wanted to try out
Firefly and Itunes for steaming over internet with Hamachi.
Firefly only transcode flac to wav so I needed a mp3 only directory.
With robocopy I did a mirror to an new directory but excluded all flac
This whole thread is OT - what does mp3 and iPod have to do in
Audiophile...?

Tommypeters... It's in audiophile since this group knows what they are
talking about. I have an audiophile system with a transport and about
$50K of equipment. But, I want to be able to use my IPOD when on the go
without ripping all over again. I am sure other forums could have
answered this but

I used to use foobar, but now I use Robin's script. :) Although I
sometimes have to lower the thread priority on the perl thread so that
I can use other programs at the same time.

Foobar2000. Probably the most versatile piece of free software
available for transcoding and tag editing, IMHO.

What's the easiest way to convert CDs that I've already ripped with

I find foobar2000 to be about the best

What have you tried?
Did you try
I also use foobar2000. For more discussion on the topic, see this thread
(it includes the method I use for getting directories and filenames of
the transcoded files just how I want them):

dBpowerAMP Music Converter at http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ is very
powerful and easy-to-use. It supports Windows Explorer integration
plus a very nice stand-alone GUI. If you go that route, I wrote a
utility to automatically reconcile the contents of a FLAC directory
tree against an MP3 directory
