I'm running a T-Amp with some some largeish speakers for my kitchen
squeezebox.
I bought 2 T-Amps from the US and 2 mains PSU's from the UK back in
June of this year. They eat batteries, and you need a PSU which can
put out >2amps, this was tricky to source.
Costs as follows:

Oh me of little faith. I ordered it on Tuesday evening and it arrived on
Thursday morning. Very good service from Media-Zone. First impressions
are that it's tiny and it's not quite as cheap and nasty looking as I
expected (it looks ok really and it's small enough to hide anyway).
Trouble is that

If you fancy a Tripath amp and are not averse to a bit of soldering
(Surface Mount) have a look at the amps on www.41Hz.com. I've built an
AMP 3 - cost for the kit 25 euros plus shipping. To this you need to
add a case and some basic mounting H/W and a PSU.

Search Ebay for "Sonic Impact". There's a European seller sellng them
with a "Buy it now" price of about £20 (plus £15 postage). But I
haven't bought one off him, so I don't know how trustworthy he is??

IIRC you also need a PSU - which pushes the final cost up a bit more.

Don't know if your 'dealer down the road' is Grahams, but they do B&W as
well as Linn and the Gallo stuff. KEF and Sonance products are
generally well thought of too. IIRC the Gallo stuff is quite
expensive.
I built some dedicated SqueezeBox amps for an installation I did

Cheers for that - very interested in the speakers you mention Inguz,
that's great that the ceiling mount is seperate. According to their
website, there's a dealer up the road from me that sells them so I can
actually hear them first unlike other ceiling speakers.

I actually set up my kitchen with an old Naim Nait 2 amp and a pair of
Linn Sweetspot in-ceiling speakers.
I must admit I haven't been too enamoured with
That amp is so cheap and has such a following that I'd love to buy one.
Unfortunately (just like the equally cheap and rated Chaintech AV710
soundcard) no-one in the EU seems to sell them. I'd order from the
states, but shipping, duty, VAT and (especially) customs clearance
charges are too much of
