Cool. Can you give us some more information?
Are you using a preamp?
What speakers are you using?
Any noise when paused or distortion when playing like the original
poster?
Thanks,

No preamp - SB3 feeding straight into the power amp. They seem pretty
well

I've just bought and installed a pair of NuForce Reference 8's and can
confirm they are indeed a good match with the SB3. Certainly not
lacking in Bass and Mid either !

I think something like Bel Canto's new ICEpower amps (the S-1000s and
S-300s) would be more interesting.
But, to the original poster: great system! Sunfire is terrific
stuff...and Blue Jeans Cables? My favorite discovery in high-quality,
humanly-priced cabling made by te nicest folks around!
Please let us know how you like the NuForce amps. After reading a bunch
of reviews, I'm very intrigued by them. Them seem like they might be a
great match to the Squeezebox.
Anyway as far as the noise you are hearing check out this from the
NuForce website:

Sure if I can figure out what kind of screwdriver I need to open the
SB2. Thx for the help all.
If you're only using the analogue outputs and the digital output is
spare, you can use the screen on that as an earth connection. (In which
case, no need to open up the unit).

Maybe this could be the problem as the Nuforce are a switching amp.
My SB2 drives my Hypex UcD (switching) amps just fine.

Sounds like something is wrong somewhere - it should work fine.
Are you sure the cabling between SB2 and Amp is correct? The Amp
muting should prevent any distortion/noise from the SB2 getting through
anyway - did you mean Amp muting, or are you muting with the SB2 volume
control?
SS 6.2 uses
Amps muted by the SB2 own volume control. For the moment I use the
interconnect supplied with the SB2 to feed the amps. Maybe this could
be the problem as the Nuforce are a switching amp. No problems with the
CD-player though. I've used firmware 26 also but same problem.

Reading the 6moons.com review of the Nuforce
(http://www.6moons.com/audioreviews/nuforce2/9.html), they comment upon
the need for proper grounding, and other electronic peculiarities of
that design. Problem likely resides in your connections.

The SB2 doesn't have an earth to signal ground connection. Ideally you
have one, and only one, earth to ground connection in an audio system.
Unfortunately, manufacturers all seem to do different things! Some
make the connection at the pre amp, some in the CD Player and some in
the power amp.
Sure if I can figure out what kind of screwdriver I need to open the
SB2. Thx for the help all.
