I don't know what was happening before, but I just went through setup
again and now I got the option to setup the security. Odd. Anyway, it
should probably work now. I just installed the latest slimserver build
and it is scanning my music again so it will be a while before I can
try to connect

is it possible there is another wireless network in range with the same
name but lacking security?
that would explain the successful dhcp but then can't find your
slimserver

There was another network from one of my neighbor's houses on there. I
guess it could have connected to it when failing to connect to mine? I
dunno. Doesn't sound like it should work that way. In any case it is
working now and sounding really good.
