Hi there - before I go rush out and buy that lovely SB3 I wanted to pass
a few things by you guys to see what the ‘the panel think’ :-)

I have had an SB2 for few months now and I am stunned by what I
consider to be an exceptionally fine digital transport, but now I
really fancy that ‘gorgeous’ (if you like the ‘alarm clock’ form!) SB3.
No other reason than it’s new look really, as the little plastic SB2
never really did fit in aesthetically with the rest of my AV/Hi-fi
system - and certainly doesn’t look as good as it sounds!

Anyway, when I bought the SB2 I went for ‘wired’ version, one because I
have a wired 100mbps network around the home anyway and two I didn’t
like the idea of dropouts and stutters that you ‘just might’ get with
wireless transmission - and three - most importantly (and this is where
the techies flame me again...:-) I was worried about sitting a digitally
noisy wi-fi device on top of my lovely Meridian analogue gear (yeah I
know it’s got the rest of the network circuit in there anyway so
probably worrying about nothing!).

Anyway, like I say I am very happy with the audio quality of the SB2
and really don’t want to mess with the sound I am getting by changing
for the SB3 - so, your comments will help me decide - should I go
wireless or wired.

PS. I will still use it wired in my system just for now, but the
re-saleability will be better than the ‘wired’ version I presume and if
I move I probably will need to go the wireless route.

PPS. I wonder can you switch off wireless circuits (you just remove the
wi-fi card on the Roku) and just use the wired connection on the
wireless version?

Any comments gratefully received - and does anyone want a wired SB2 for
a good price :-)
