From an Audio standpoint, a SliMP3 may be fine for your bedroom -
depends upon your ears and lots of other factors. But, in addition to
the other negative points already mentioned, the protocol overhead to
the server is much higher.

Hah, performant is a made-up manager word. My boss uses it, mostly
we make fun of him for using it. I wasn't trying to offend non-native

which I find too loud and bright for my taste. On the other hand the

I'm posting this question here because I thought this group might be
best able to answer.
I want to mount a squeeze flush to the wall and the SliMP3 seems like
the best choice. It is small and it appears that the face plate
extends beyond the box that would be recessed into the
Disadvantages of the SliMP3:
#8226; No longer produced, hasn't been since the end of 2003 and I
don't know how often they come up for sale
#8226; No wirless
#8226; MP3 only!
#8226; Uses a Crystal CS4334 DAC, no where near as good as the
Burr-Brown PCM1748E

The display on the SB3 is far better (graphic) than the slimp3 (text
only).
If you want to wall-mount a squeezebox, I would get the SB3. It's much
better.
