i can listen to my tube preamp software emulated file on my computer but
not the transporter.

here is what ive done:

1. started with a ripped flac on my mac mini.
2. moved the file to the shared folder with my vmware virtualized
windows xp machine
3. converted the flac to a wav file in xp
4. downloaded an impulse response file for a preamp i want to try from
the internet
5. use foobar2000 to convert the mono impulse response file to a stereo
file
6. used ConvolverCMD with 0 partitions, 0 tuningrigour (sic) and 0
attenuation, the stereo ir file, and my input wav file and it convolves
to a wav output file
7. took the resulting wav file and moved back to the mac
8. put the file in a music folder and had squeeze center rescan for new
music
9. tried to play the file on the transporter- it wont play and just
skips to the next track
10. also tried using Max to convert the wav file to a flac, no good

what i think is wrong is the convolved wav file is 32 bit and the
transporter doesnt like that?

can i convert it to 16bit? how? i believe the convolver expects a 32
bit input file for some reason- it does give a warning that the wav
input and the filter are different bit rates. however, itunes can play
the resulting 32 bit wav file.

ideas?

finally, if anyone has an easier what to accomplish this (software
emulation through squeezecenter to the transporter, i am all ears!)

thanks!

james
