I'm maintaining "intellij-idea-ue-bundled-jre" on AUR. I think being a
user of a package is very beneficial when maintaining it. You'll know
when a new version is available, and you will always test your own
package.
So why don't you become a co-maintainer of the package you mentioned,
so
Preferably we want to achieve:
- No download of full tarball for users that use the system jre
- Default of installing the bundled jre (because that's the recommendation
from jetbrains).
- Only 1 source package to reduce maintenance
I count 4 options:
A) 2 packages: "base-with-jre" and "base-witho

Agree, the thing with the meta packages is a bit overcomplicated.
How about a single PKGFILE, which creates two packages with the "split
package" mechanism

I've created the "-bundled-jre" version of the IDEA package after
discussion with the maintainer of the "-ultimate-edition" version
("uwolfer").
Some people want to have the bundled JRE, others would like to use a
system-wide ins
