Have you tried a watchmaker? I had a local guy replace jewels in an
altimeter for me. They were BIG when compared to a watch, but as the guy
said to me, " They make some pretty big clocks" Only cost me
$50 including labour to repair.

source for parts for a PZL vario? In particular the main pivot jewels, similar
