I saw this site advertised recently on a trip to
Melbourne. Seems to me that a 12 to 1 glide ratio entirely within ground
effect is achievable.
It could be a good way to promote our sport in Victoria as
well.

That's the one I bought in May,- and which,despite assurances to the
contrary from the perpetrators of what used to be our gliding magazine,
remains advertised in each issue.
I don't want to sell it either.

I doubt it. [the requirement is to fly 75 metres from a 6m high platform]
You'll use some height accelerating up to flying speed so you're probably
more like 4 or 5 metres above the water after takeoff. So
