ARE YOU GETTING YOUR ENTITLEMENTS FROM YOUR
PRIVATE MEDICAL INSURANCE?
Perhaps this is well known to some. But if not then the following may be of interest to those holding the highest
levels of medical insurance with Medibank Private. What has this got to do
with gliding, you ask? Read on.
For those people paying Medibank Private
insurance under the HealthyPlus, SmartPlus, AdvantagePlus or PremierPlus
plans, you are entitled to the "PackageBonus". This enables
you to claim, each calendar year, a benefit to use towards a wide range of
approved healthy lifestyle related expenses and membership related
expenses.
Amongst "Healthy lifestyle related expenses" are
included sports club membership, sports equipment, sports specific apparel and
health related services.
The proof of this is that a member of Geelong
Gliding Club, who holds Medibank Private AdvantagePlus cover, today Monday May
20th, walked into his local Medibank Private shop and requested they grant him
the "PackageBonus" benefit in relation to sports club membership - his sports
club being the Geelong Gliding Club. He walked out of the Medibank Private
shop with $150. Medibank Private honoured the "PackagePlus" deal which was
$100 towards this years membership and $50 because he hadn't claimed it the
previous year.
So are you paying the highest levels of Medibank
Private cover as listed above which include "PackageBonus" and not claiming your
gliding club sports club membership refund benefit? If not, get
smart.
Of course it is not something for nothing, you are
paying for it in part or whole in your Medibank Private payments under the
relevant plans. But if you are paying then don't be reluctant to request
the benefit available to you.
