Hi! Emilis,
I got a phone call while i was in Melbourne Saturday from Peter
Warberton's Gliding Partner.
I did not know he had died earlier in the year he was a great
supporter of gliding and the SAGA.
The Phone Call was in relation to some box's of historical data that
he has left for your g

One thing that caught me out was wires. The wires I used were from a
USB cable - but the voltage drop across those wires was about .3
volts. This was enough to stop my iPaq charging.
If you have any problem test the voltage at the ipaq while it is
charging.
P.S. I have installed tw
This is because the device that plugs into your cigarette lighter does
the 12V - 5V conversion for you. I used to use one of these and
bought a female cigarette lighter adaptor to plug it into.
This allowed me to break out 12 V for the Volkslogger to drive it and
5 for the iPaq.

I was going to say something derogatory about our own system, but what could I

Don,
I am going to assume this for your own aircraft, not a club
aircraft modification.
My experience is that the best result comes from powering your iPAQ from the
Vario that also provides your
GPS and air-data. Initially we set up with the USB Cigarette adaptor wired

Don,
It looks like you have got the right advice from Robert. I have
recently been through the exercise and have placed a 12v to 5.3v DC
converter between the glider 12 volt supply (a pair of 7.2 Ah gel cells)
and a fused/switched 2.1 mm pin socket mounted in the panel. This

Hi Robert,
Thanks for your advice. The HP ipaq I have also does Tom Tom navigation on my
car so it spends most of its time on my windscreen. Because it already has an
internal gps I don't intend connecting an external one to it. The USB currently
plugs into a cigarette lighter adaptor and then

Hi all,
I'm in the process of putting an ipaq into my glider. My ipaq uses a

off the larger plug so I can run the lead straight of
