Saw this beauty just out from Moruya taken from 5000' en-route to Merimbula,
NSW. Dad and I have also spotted a roll cloud to the West of Biloela (CQ), if
only on both occasions I were able to take advantage of it to explore :)

A couple of weeks ago on the way to work (car pooling with my two
sons) we saw the same phenomenon Bernard describes - exactly like the
Caboolture pictures... Maybe this is more common than we think.

The wave is generated by the very moderate hills to the north / n/west of
Bacchus Marsh. Accordingly we encounter wave of various intensity in winds from
that direction, mostly in winter with stable airmass. In ancient times
altitudes beyond 10,000 ft have been achieved, unfort

his own mind though isnt he ? , and it would have been possible for him to have
made that flight, so lets keep it as an airstrip myth.
