Isn't the whole point of the Experimental category to let willing and
_informed_ participants try new things? There's a reason why the word
'experimental' has to be put in huge font on the side of the aircraft - So
Aunty Flo doesn't think she's getting into something that meets the same
standards a

Of course all sailplanes not used commercially should have the option
of Experimental. The standard factory gliders are a commercial
product made just good enough to sell.
Individuals may wish to add features which weren't thought of at the
time of manufacture
