Narromine Gliding Club are hosting the 20Metre 2 Seat Class National Gliding
Championships from Thursday 28 November 2013 to Friday 6 December 2013
inclusive, with registration available from Wednesday 27 November.
This is the second time this event has been held at Narromine Gliding Club,

Oh yes, I remember looking at one once in a glider. About early 1993
when we just had GPS and on that leg the turnpoint was bearing 145
degrees or so from where I was. There wasn't a lot of wind so I I
looked at the compass to see that it also said 145 when the nose was
pointed

I don't think that's right.

reference to instruments concerns turn and bank

northern hemisphere version (type N) ,

Isn't the main point about having a compass the fact they don't need a
power supply to work?
So if you suddenly lose your batteries for some reason, you can use a map
and compass to find where you are and just as importantly (hopefully) be
able to tell other people where to find you also...?
