Exactly correct Ron. But we want them to be cheap too so there eventually will be a compromise somewhere. I am not justifying the GPS mfrs simply discussing why the number/TP name system works well for Competitions. It removes ambiguity. ROSS

My understanding was that the official turn point list was now the file supplied by the organisers anyway. This is usually a small subset of the local database without points close together. Even with a lack of multiple points in the same location, there is scope for confusion. I am aware of so
