Regretfully I have to report Lucy Wills died at home north of Byron Bay in the early hours of yesterday (Saturday).  She was only 28 and 6 years ago was diagnosed as Breast cancer and has had a real battle over the last 6 months or so in Australia.  Most of us from Brad Edwards in Australia to Annette Reichmann in Germany know Lucy from the movie Lucy Learns to Fly and the shorter gliding promotion video organised by John Roake. Although Lucy has left us we will continue to see a young Lucy for the next 15 to 20 years in the videos.  In the last 3 weeks she really went down hill and regretfully it was only a matter of time.

I was at a party before Christmas and Lucy was at our table.  She was a slow talking Lucy and later I met her mother who was the bubbly person of Lucy in the video. Lucy loved the NZ countryside but she choose to come to Australia more recently as there was more an outdoors climate in Australia

I do know over the last 6 months Giles Taylor has been greatly involved with care of Lucy and has done far far more than any call of duty as a doctor.  Christel Taylor assisted in the past as a physio and the Taylors have had Gavin Wills stay with them when over from NZ, Rick Bowie had the Wills family on his yacht for a Barrier Reef holiday, and the Igguldens have had the Wills use their Byron Beach house.

I am uncertain of funeral arrangements.  I think next time I view the video it will be very difficult for me.
