Hi all Scott said
"Every extra aircraft to have a FLARM (flying in the same area of course) increases safety." Important rider missing here, and that is only if you are a FLARM user. As for eyeball mark x, its not necessarily how good (big)it is, its how well you use it, or so I'm told (-: (My teenage son has better eyesight than me, but I regularly spot things he doesn't, especially on the road, and messes!) Were the eyes performance an issue we would see a larger number of older pilots having accidents than younger, but I am not convinced this is the case (Due mainly to the wonderful invention of spectacles!). In my post yesterday I referred to IPAQ using l-ion batteries, this is not correct they use LI-Po(Polymer) batteries, as used in electric powered models to great effect these days, I have a 1 meter aerobatic model which has amazing performance with a brushless motor and 3 cell LIPO pack. The downside can be spectacular flammability, to the point where people will only leave them to charge unattended if they are in a ceramic pot with a lid. My original post regarding flarm mainly ruled it out because of cost, in the application stated by the original post, and the limited usefulness when most gliders do not have them. And the answer is no for that 7%, everyone else uses Windows.<Humour> _______________________________________________ Aus-soaring mailing list Aus-soaring@lists.internode.on.net To check or change subscription details, visit: http://lists.internode.on.net/mailman/listinfo/aus-soaring _______________________________________________ Aus-soaring mailing list Aus-soaring@lists.internode.on.net To check or change subscription details, visit: http://lists.internode.on.net/mailman/listinfo/aus-soaring
