How about a "gyro-glider"? The rotor, set for auto-rotation, could be spun up before the launch (and helped along during the flight) by means of pedals. The 3 man crew would have to "carry-launch" the contraption. Don't know enough about the physics of rotary wings to work out the maths but the wi
