Depending on the coax cable used, you may get a lot of noise from TV. RG6
is preferred as a minimum. RG59 doesn't really cut it. Also, watch out for
dodgy splitters used in the walls. I have seen some coax just stripped back

Yes it is possible. I've done it with the Huawei mini CMTS (its limited to 255
cable modems). The two big issues I've found is that almost every existing
installation will have uni directional amplifiers, so you will need to replace
them with bi directional amps and dodgy compressio
