AC_PROG_MKDIR_P in the macro AM_PROG_MKDIR_P, thus `$(mkdir_p)' may be
expressed in terms of `$(MKDIR_P)'. Since gettext's Makefile.in.in (and
thus packages that use gettext) in general rely on the definition
provided by AM_PR
