Thanks for the reply, I'm didn't have the lua socket library, it's now installed (in arch pacman -S luasocket) but still haven't got any luck. I'm testing with the awesome_test script but when awesome crash on startup, although the battery and clock widgets work. Here's the output I get when putt

Hi there, I upgraded to awesome 3.4 a soon as it was released, but so far I've been unable to get the obvious widgets working, since readme files are outdated/nonexistent and google show nothing... Can someone give me a hint on the right direction to get this working? An example on a the net/mem/
