[Axapta-Knowledge-Village] Closing Inventory

Hi I´m confused on when is it that I have to close inventory. My inventory model group is Weighted Average Date. Do I have to close Inventory every month in order to do my monthly reports on costing and Inventory status? But I understand it closes my items to that date, and If I have open p
