Chris, Once a production item is transacted, there is no way to change the item type. Your best bet will be to go to inventory management>Items> References tab and check the Bom Calculation - Stop Explosion checkbox (to bypass the BOM calculating the cost) and Item Coverage - Stop Explosion chec
