Hi,

In Accrual schemes, we can define Debit & Credit
Accrual accounts, Period frequency and length.

E.g. You are paying rent $12,000 for 6 months upfront
on 5th of Jan. But this is rent is for period Jan to
June. Hense need to be posted equally for six months,
on every 1st. Instead of posting whole $12,000 as rent
on 5th Jan.

In such situation, if Accrual scheme can be used.

Create Accrual scheme with monthly period frequency
and length = 6. Specify Debit & Credit Accrual
accounts.

Create General Journal for rent payment (date: 5th
Jan, amount $12,000). Click on Functions>Ledger
Accruals, Select Accrual Identification & click ok.
Post the journal.

It will divide, rent into 6 same values and post it on
1st of every month from Jan to Jun.

Date Account Dr Cr
5-Jan Accr Dr 12000
5-Jan Bank 12000
1-Jan Rent 2000
1-Jan Accr Dr 2000
1-Feb Rent 2000
1-Feb Accr Dr 2000

and so on till June!

Hope this helps you to understand Accrual schemes in
AX.
Regards,
Yogesh Kasat
