I have the Group created and the batches assigned to that group. I
have set my service to login as "Local System" and Axapta to use
system. I set it to start the batch service with the correct batch
group.
When I start the service, it shows started but I never see any login

Have you created the Group for Batch Processing?
Have you started that Batch Group from Basic -> Periodic -> Batch ->
Processing?
Is your Batch Group running? This one is mandatory. If your Batch
Group is running then only your services schedule for batch can be
processed.
