HI ya that is correct. plus what will happen if no BOM# was selected and WO was created and other updates like start, material consumption and reported as finished were excuted ? or system wont allow you proceed.? as far as i know we can proceed but still dont know y and the effecct of this

I wish to help you out but let me clear one thing first.
You want the WO not to be created unless a BOM number is specified
in the BOM field in the Production order form, is that correct?
