Hi Ethan Thanks for the reply. I am quiet confused on how to go about it. What is User Group Type? If not in axapta, how to create it? Some customisation is required? Irrespective of assigning one user group to Journal name control, i need to set permissions to it, even though its set to full control. Am i right in my understanding or is it totally different logic that you are talking about? Nihar

The journal control function has concepts that union user groups within one journal name. - if you set a journal control in a journal name with 2 over control user group, you should set a user ID to all control user group. So we create new user groups for journal names. and we link new user groups (for only journal names) to journal names. (one journal name has only one user group) Hope this helps.
