I suspect you're looking in the wrong place. This is the bug-tracking database
for the Apache Axis web services software, not Apache httpd. It is also best to
send email to the project mailing list before opening a bug report. Consider
sending your request for help to the Apache users mailing list instead.
Information on how to subscribe to the list can be found here:

> Hello,
>
> at first i have to say that my english isn't very well. But i hope you will
> understand all i write.
>
> So now the Problem:
> I use the module "mod_vhost_alias" for a Freewebhosting-Project. The module
> works well, but we need three changes and now i want to do them with some
> friends. But here is the Problem, we don't know 'how'. At first we searched
> the API to understand the sourcecode, all ok...
>
> This are the changes we need:
> 1. checking, whether the virtual document root exists, because of the
> 404-Error (not nice :) )
> 2. in the "Apache Environment Variables" is the DocumentRoot not changed to
> the virtual document root. It's the one you wrote in the httpd.conf.
> 3. something like include command to include a file in that you can write
> user-specific Apache and PHP Options; for example the php_value command,
> becuase each "virtual Host" can have his own "configuartion".
>
> 1. We know how to check for a directory (i think they is an apache own
> function for this, isn't it?), but we don't know where. We thought it could
> be in the function "vhost_alias_set".
> 2. We don't know, how we can set the document root out of the virtual path.
> In the http_core.c file we found "conf->ap_document_root". But how can we
> change this option out of a module function?
> 3. We know how to read a file, but how can we include the content of this
> file to the vHost?
>
>
> Why do we need this? It's easy to say:
> as I already said is it a freewebhosting-project and so we have a lot of
> vHosts. Actually we write them all in the config. Nearly 2500 vHosts. So the
> Apache needs very long for startup. To reduce this time, whe decied us for
> this module and for a perfect use for us, we want to make these changes.
>
>
> Many questions, sorry, but this is our first programming action for Apache.
> but we hope, you can help us to resolve this problems.
>
> Best regards
> Stefan Grubisic
>
> PS: We know, that this is a non-technical contact address, but we don't find
> a other one to that we can send this mail.
