So, what's the number of new features and build-breaking
"enhancements" targeted for this release candidate?
Seriously... after the whirlwind that occurred over the past few weeks, is
this code really going to remain stable until the 1.0 release?

I would really like to stop this Friday, so I agree with Sam. If you
notice, I've been silent on a number of the votes because I don't think we
need them for 1.0. I haven't gone so far as to veto anything, but I've
also noticed that some things didn'

Unfortunately, most of the recent ones have, IMHO, been in that category. :/

ALSO, I'd like a window to work on some documentation... let's cut an RC2

The plan is to continue rolling in changes that have been voted on into the 1.0
branch, so the 1.0 final release will likely still have a few more fixes/changes after
rc2.

What happens next? Is rc2 it? Is there a potential for a rc3 next
week, or does this one smell like its the one?
The reason I am asking is I would like to write up some doc on how to
use the JMS transport and its sample. If I had that by COB Monday would
that still be possible to get in

While I don't like shipping a rc that does not pass our own tests, I will
do so this evening if there is no fix to the security problem. I'll
include any of the fixes which have been voted on at the time I cut the
release.
Meanwhile, I am on dalnet, but can't seem to get into undernet.

I uploaded rc2 to http://xml.apache.org/axis/dist/1_0rc2/ yesterday, but
did not announce it as I was having troubles verifying that the security
tests pass. You see, I've been trying to debug for the past 24+ hours
or so why I could not get the security tests to pass with released

I would like to se my build changes go out as part of the official 1.0
release, so an RC2 which contains them is preferrable to me

The goal of the rc2 release is simply to package up all of the fixes
made since the rc1 release in a form convenient and conducive for a
wider audience to test and provide feedback on. As such, there are no
list of "must fix bugs" for this particular release.
