I'm trying to do the same thing. I did it at my previous job so I know it
is doable but I cannot find any good reference on it.
We created XML DOMs from scratch on the client side and sent that XML via
soap to the SOAP server. The soap server then split up the XML and handled
it appropriatly, us
second item, I can't help you. I suppose you need a web service
server
on the client side or a push server.

on the client side. I'm quite familiar with XML in general and I know C++
decently well. My Java experience is quite limited, haven't messed with it
in 4-5 years and that was just a one semester college course.

I had the same problem which was being caused by 2 problems. I didn't have
my classpaths set up properly, try the test stock application to find out.
Also web.xml in Tomcat 4.1\webapps\axis\WEB-INF comes with the admin servlet
commented out by default.
