In your stub code you should see a line like this:
oper.setReturnType(org.apache.axis.encoding.XMLType.AXIS_VOID);
Comment that line out and everything should work fine.

That would be a great addition to Axis to provide flexibility to move an
abstract WSDL to different deployments without having to continually change
the endpoints and usage.
