I had this problem using the 1.1 beta release of Axis and was able to get around it by getting the latest nightly build. Apparently this has been fixed since the 1.1 beta release.

Subject: SSL and Axis (client-side)

Hi,

I'm trying to call a SOAP function via AXIS over SSL.

However, I get an AxisFault error (below). Searching around the archives, I saw someone say that:

AxisProperties.setClassDefault(SecureSocketFactory.class, "org.apache.axis.components.net.SunJSSESocketFactory");

would clear up the problem. However, it did not work for me. Can anyone provide any pointers?

I am using Java 1.3, BTW.
