We live in San Luis Obispo, if there's any help we can provide, let us know.
What were your ancestors names when they lived here and during what years?

Have you tried the Church Baptismal Records? That would be the place to look
that might have the info you need. I'm sure that they were Catholic so try the
Catholic church in SLO.

For the timeframe you have the births, I think they would be at the Mission in
SLO. The Mission have been microfilmed but the Baptisms only go to 1869! Darn.
The marriage records to to 1906 and can be ordered from Salt Lake City.
Otherwise, you'll have to get into contact with the

Hermano,
Please use whatever you want. I'm sure you know this, but in case you don't,
Francisca is a direct descendant of Lopo Anes de Araujo, documented by Rodrigo
Rodrigues in book 1.
I have 3 additional siblings to Manoel. If you need that information, let me
know.

Hello E,
Thank you so much for requesting to help but if I am not sure of the Town then
your search would be in vane. I would not want to waste your time it is to
important. I need to figure out why they put San Luis Obispo. Was it because
they thought it was in that County? They all put

John was born in SLO and knows a lot of old timers. However, if they were in

Hi Ronnie,
I went to Guadalupe, Ca. about 15 yrs ago and found Oso Flaco but it was just a
Road not an actual town. There was a church there built in 1875 Our Lady of
Guadalupe Catholic Church. I will try to see where they would have kept the
baptismal records for that church. I don't know

Thank you for your advice. I will try to get the info for the Mission and see
what they require to search their records. Thank you again, Vivian

Robin,
Thank you for all your information. I will do somemore checking and like you
said make sure that the boundry did not change during the time period when they
should have been there. Also check out the Guadalupe Museum. I do put them
aside and move onto someone else and then go back.
Hello Judi John
My connection is with Francisca, in that she is a distant cousin.
My connection to Lopo Anes is that one of his sons married one of my cousins.
If you have descendants for Manuel and Francisca I would love to get that
information.
Let me know if and/or how I can help.
That would explain so much. The name changes, age changes, suddenly appearing
on the other side of the country.

Hi All,
Just wanted to let you know I attended the conference/class to day and
had a great time and even this advanced researcher learned a few things.
Cheri Mello and George Pacheco did a great job and RI College deserves
credit for hosting this event.
In case you are trying to email
I was there as well and they both did great! A good turn-out greeted them
as well - just wish the weather was a little better. I hope the college has
them back for a more advanced class.
