Only information I can offer is that our relatives could not

You will probably have very little problem navigating the passaporte records
from the CCA site. It's difficult for the English only speakers to
navigate.

At the familysearch.com site, there is Antone Soares Medeiros born
December 25, 1831 and it lists his parents as Louis Medeiros and Lena
