I suppose because it was owned by Portuguese all those years people just
thought they served Portuguese food. So when my family (Duarte's) found the
restaurant and traveled to visit they were disappointed. They did speak of the
soup being very good.

Do you have any idea what sources were used for the neps website? I've used
the church records from the islands in my research, but on the neps website a
marriage date is listed for 1739 one of my couples and the church records don't
go back that far. Where did they get that information
