My Borbas went to Brazil first (in 1815).
Vila Nova (north of the island) is next to Lajes going west on the road. I was
there in May and driving on that road, just before leaving the freguesia of
Lajes, there is a green house with a "Vivenda Borba" sign painted on it. I

I think I can make out the first names of the
I think that the baby could be Umbelina, but that first letter really looks
more like a V to me. The father is Jose da Sil-va (hyphenated).

I was able to obtain copies of my Paternal Grandmother's baptismal
certificate but it is very difficult to read. Her info is:

Year of birth was 1906. Born in Covoada, San Migue
