I have decided to become a member of A (American Association Against
Acronym Abuse) :) There are TOO MANY of these things floating around.
First comes the computers and their hard drives, which people call HD. Then
television gets their new technology called High Definition, abbreviated
HD.
I think it says: 1701 Manuel de Souza Reis: parents are Manuel de Souza Reis
and Alexandrina Julia daGloria
1702 Maria Augusta daConceicao: parents are Jose
dePimental and Antonia Candida daJesus
1708 Marianna dosAnjos: parents are Joao ?
The ones I mentioned in the previous message are at the Oakland temple
family history center.

Ireis,
First of all, probably half of all females are named Maria. You will see the
births as Maria 2nd, 3rd of the name and so on. My grandfather had 6 sisters,
4 were named Maria.
On your passport, 1701 parents are Manoel de Souza Reis and Michaelina Julia da
Gloria.
1702 are Jose de Pement
Lil,
Here's what your (???) look like to me,

1702 Antonia Candida de Jesus
1709 Joao Alves and Maria dos Anjos
Most girls were named Maria, it is the middle or second name which was
different.

Here's what I got:

Jesse,
I read; "Simiam" (Simião) or Simão present day.
Regarding the mother's name and comparing the priest's writing on the
baptismal record above of (dos Santos) versus Custodio's it indicates to me
that the first letter is not an "S" but a "J".

Hi
I looked at both the Baptism and Marriage and get the same three people.
Custodio, child of Francisco Ferreira and Luiza do Bom Surejo, both
deceased.
Hope this helps,

On the Baptism record it looks like her name is written as Luiza (i'm
sorry ...the last name looks unfamiliar to me too..) and then the
marriage lists her as Luziaswitching the letter 'z' and 'i'.
My two cents on the other record.could it be Simiam (Simon) and
not written with a 'J' ? Jus
1 - Dona (Mrs.) Ignacia Maria Duque
2 - Luzia do Bom Sossego ( Sucego: old spelling)
3 - Simião Ferreira ( Simiam: old spelling)
