I save my gedcom to dropbox and run family tree maker from dropbox... It syncs
between all of my computers and I don't have to worry about updating info when
I go from computer to computer...and it is sniff site backup as well... Could
not ask for anything else...

OK, do I misunderstand the conversation? I've not had time to follow it
properly this weekend.
But I wonder what privacy of genealogical data or its public nature has to do
with it.
Do I correctly undersatnd that Dropbox is a place you can put your gedcom's or
backed up genealogical databases
