FTM 2010 says this. I looked in the Help file for Name then Settings. See
if that's in your version.
To open the Options: Name dialog box:
Click Publish > Details View > Items to Include > select Name in the Included
facts list > Name Options.

I think some names are difficult to pinpoint.
James Guill lists the name Pimentel as Galician in origin. You can check
out "The Cross and the Pear Tree" by Victor Perera and probably get a
different perspective. I'm sure there are many books with many different
viewpoints on this.

I would think of it in this context. How many African Americans use the
Surname of Washington or Jefferson or other names which we associate with
the slave owners that they were once owned by. Now obviously Washington is
not an African name. Well neither are most of the Portuguese names Jewish.
