click on departments, then archives where you can do a vital records

parents names were actually:
Francisco J Mendonça (J probably Jose) (Died before 1910)
and
Maria de São Pedro (died 1954)

Cheryl, it is interesting that you post this line. There is a Furtado
Lourenco line that comes from Ponta Garca and has connections to Ribeira
das Tainhas, which as you know, is very close to Ponta Garca and Ribeira
Quente. The Furtado Lourenco line begins with Lourenco Furtado and

I too have Silveira and Veira ancestors, but mine are from Sao Jorge and my
GGrandfather from that line ended up in Australia in the early 1870s. So
these are obviously common names and their genes have spread around the
world.
