Hi Herb,
It has been years since I have used PAF. If you already have PAF on both
computers then you can make a GEDCOM file to transfer your data. If you need
to get PAF for the other computer I think it can be down loaded from the
net. There are a few members on this list that use PAF but

The question is what to save it as. I guess the better question is what do
you want to do with the data. Are you just saving it as a backup on your
wife's computer? Importing all the data into your wife's computer? That
will drive your decision as to which format to save

I don't know if any of the four or five on the list who actively search the
Santa Maria records have looked at Vila do Porto (Nossa Senhora da
Assunção) films. It would be an enormous task to do so, there being 5
films. Fortunately the other three parishes are much smaller.

Yes, it IS frustrating. I've found if I come back to it, the page will usually
load after anything from a few minutes to hours.
But I've also noticed that I can usually still access the page with the pull
down menus to choose the island, concelho and freguesia. Not that that does any
good.

daughter of Manuel Teixeira and Emilia Rosa de Medeiros (who were natives
