Wasn't sure where to post this, so I'm piggy-backing to this topic.
For the life of me, I've never been able to get the CCA site open. I try
now and then and eventually give up. I've used links, typed it in myself,
copy n' pasted, loaded Google Chrome, left AOL and used IE, etc

Hi Eric,
Sorry, I thought I corrected myself before I clicked .Post. but I
guess I didn't.
And thank you for the Cambridge Directories. As I mentioned before,
Felix MEDEIROS fathered his youngest child in 1895 and Mary was a
widow in 1900. So, seeing him in 1893 and not in 1903 matches up
Hi again,
I wanted to mention a few miscellaneous things. It was mentioned on
the MA/US List at www.rootsweb.com this week that the Family
Probate Records for the Courts in MA are now on-line. For my own
family-tree, I went to the site and tried the HUTCHINSON name, but I
soon found out,
Hi again,
About 6-7 yrs. ago, I had done a lot of research on my husband's
grandparents, and I had enough pieces of information to type up an
informal report on them. I sent a copy to his siblings and aunts.
Because I am now helping the cousin, I pulled out my old report to
find a .date. for
im the same I can never work it out, thought it may have to do with me living
outside the country, some things just don't work in Australia

The CCA works with Firefox, IE, and Chrome. I don't know what else.
My dad called last month and couldn't open his blah-blah Web site. I had
him clear his cache and cookies. You can google: clearing cache and
cookies on IE...or clearing cache and cookies on Firefox (or whatever you
use) and
Today (Tuesday) is the last day to order. (11:59pm CDT = GMT - 5).

Betty, I have family in hte Lowell area. We have a lot of lost years of
history in this community. Where would be the best place to locate a newspaper
article about an indutrial accident that claimed the life of one of my grand
uncles? This accident happened around 12/20/1906.

I am interested in a possible connection to Maria de Jesus Teixeira named
in your post.
I have heard from family members in the past that my grandmother,
Felicidade Teixeira, was born to Manuel and Emilia Rosa Teixeira who were
both from Agua Retorta. Felicidade's mother died when she was
Hi Bill,
Ria is my cousin. The couple she mentioned are also my great grandparents.
I just needed to clarify some of the info about this couple though.

Hi, I am tracing my ancestry, and I got somwhere near 1800s.
The surnames are very common in Velas, and the title Dona for the laddies
suggest they were somehow important, so maybe I can fit them into some
existent geneology.
These are the names and aproximate dates:
D. Josefa Victoria de
Rod,Amarante is often associated with ladies using the "dona" title.Look on the CCA website for the manuscript for Genealogias da ilha de S. Jorge and you will find other older generations of Amarante. You still have at least 50-100 years of records you can search on your own and hopefully you can
We just mailed my husband's paternal line DNA kit back. A question, will
he show any kind of relationship/match at all to his cousin who did the DNA
kit for us from his maternal line?

Elaine,
If you husband did a Y-DNA test, it will pick up his father's father's
father's line only. So his father Sharp, Grandpa Sharp, Great-Gpa Sharp,
etc.
Unless, this cousin is a Sharp on his other side, no it won't show a
relationship.

Cheri,
Somehow I knew you were going to say that but I just didn't want to hear it.
Maybe someday they will figure this out too.
