It depends. Ernesto do Canto made partial indices for select freguesias and select events on Sao Miguel. A few marriages from Sao Miguel have been published in the Insulana books. I've typed up a marriage index for Achada from the beginning to 1723 or so. Carlos Machado also did a lot for Sao Migu

Its not another island that is being referred to. Instead, I believe the line you're referring to is stating that the marriage conformed to Roman Catholic Church. The line, that is equal to being one below the margin note...this is what I see: Santa Madre Egreja Catholica Apostolica Romana.
