I am also getting this 500 Internal Server Error, and I am in Rhode
Island. It has been this way for the past 3 days. I believe it is a
server error on their end. Hopefully it gets resolved soon

Joao Ventura, archivist, works for the CCA (Azorean government), but NOT in
the genealogy division.
Joao C. Ventura is a software engineer and made the Tombo.pt site as a
portal or table of contents. It makes search the CCA site much easier.
I emailed the CCA last week. They did not answer.

I agree, Kathy, we just need to be patient! Maria Lima, the Tombo site is
just a 'portal' to the CCA. What I really like about it is that you can
just toggle back and forth to the page that lists ALL the Baptisms,
Marriages, Obitos at one time and scan for the dates you want for your
village. I jus
Marilyn, I would love to meet up with you there sometime and have you show
me a few tricks. You name it and I'll make it happen.

The CCA site is obviously undergoing some changes so I’m thinking we all need
to be patient and see what develops. Hopefully, it will be a positive change!
Patience is not always one of my attributes, lol, but I’m waiting, too. Heck, I
just got high speed internet and was all set to research to
Here is a link to the new help pages: http://www.arquivos.azores.gov.pt/help .
The Help page will clarify some of the questions about the new site. Even
though the help is there, I don't think everything on the site is working yet.
I got to that link by clicking on the question mark on the rig
Yes, I've been thinking how the change will affect all the sources I've
entered. I've copied and pasted links of the document from the CCA to each
individual and entered it on familysearch.org.
I hate to admit this but I never KNEW how to use the Tombo website. Maybe I've
been missing somet

Thank you so much, Linda. Didn't realize how addicted I was to the old way

Hi Maryann,
There was no choice. I clicked on "Registo de Baptismos" with the book
image in the link that Joanne provided. It goes to that page.
It might be possible to navigate by changing the values in the address bar,
but that would take some experimentation. The site isn't functional
When I do it I can only get Raminho, Terceira but can't see any of the
records

I did not reach the parish I wanted. Actually the page that came up is some
parish or church that's named Estrella.
I don't know how to get to the island, council, parish and then the church and
the specific years. Not yet :)

How did you get it to the right parish and how did you get it to display.
Sorry is this seems like a dumb question but I haven't been able to figure
out how to navigate this site.

Those pages appear to me to be "under construction" or, at best, in beta
testing. Some of the entries look like placeholders (such as a date range of
one day for a set of records).
This is the company that is providing the template for the archive:

Yes I got to that page too- but then couldn't figure out how to get to the
specific island, concelho and church and years like we did on the previous CCA
site.

http://www.arquivos.azores.gov.pt/viewer?id=1021142
As of 8:00am Pacific time the link works and goes to a page with thumbnail
images on the left with a main image of a registry page to their right. It's
similar to the format we
I always access it directly from their web site. You can get to the records you
want but when you click on the years you want to view, the error message comes
up.

There's a link on this new site that takes you back to CCA but still no
luck - error 500. Maybe it's all in transition.

Yeah- this is quite disappointing. Doesn't Joao Ventura work with the
department that does the Archives? Maybe he will tell us how to get into the
records (?). Or someone whose Portuguese is fluent will figure it out- I
HOPE. Cheri will know who to contact.
Cheri: Help!!
Meanwhile,
Same here...annoying.

Something tells me they may be changing the way they allow us to search the
website. I found this note on the actual CCA site but I’m not sure what it
means:
