Slave in Portuguese is escravo. It doesn't start with a "c." I think I've seen C.ro on Santa Maria island for Corvelo. This is Sao Jorge island and I don't research there, so it may be a different name (Carreiro, Cordeiro, come to mind). Someone who researches Sao Jorge will come up with the
