Sandra, it doesn't sound like an Italian name. I looked it up in the book, *Our
Italian Surnames *by Joseph G. Fucilla and there is nothing close. I also
looked it up in *Portuguese Paleography*, nothing close either. Looked also
in my Portuguese to English dictionary and nothing closer than baldao

spread out the 'sua mulher' between Affonso and Maria on the baptism!

The Luso American Education Foundation (LAEF) is having their convention
this coming weekend, Friday - Sunday, March 11-13, 2016 in San Diego,
California. Much of it is to be held in the Portuguese area of Point Loma,
at the Portuguese hall there and at St. Agnes School, just a few blocks

Look at 6th line from bottom--paterno Joao Jacinto de Torres. Could be
Francisco de Jose Torres with a sloppy "T."

It is TORRES. Francisco Jose de Torres. You will be able to recognize it
better if you look at the paternal grandfather's name Joao Jacinto de
Torres.
