Eric S, In the obituary it says that he belonged to a Portuguese organization. You'll need to search those records. You will have to do all searches on him as Alexander (Alexandre) da Souza, just Souza, Souza Borba, S. Borba or just Borba. Don't assign anything to the names. He could have tacked

You can't (to my knowledge). Because we are all on different computers of different ages, it's best to avoid bolding, underlining, etc. And colors and graphics. They may not display correctly on the other end (Eliseu's graphic always comes out as the letter "J" on my end. I don't know what graphic

OK, I went in and changed the setting to show maiden name and now it's attaching the father's surname to each woman that doesn't have a surname listed! I don't really know what else to do. As an example, my Isabel Constantina Bettencourt is now being listed by her father's last name of Lemos. Rose

Marilyn, they could possibly be the same *but *the baptism of Rita clearly is Manuel Joaquim Silveira not Silva. I would question the second baptism if it looked like an abbreviation of Silveira but it is clearly Silva. You would need to trace all of Manuel Joaquinuelm's children and see if there w
